Who is W Ratings?

Started in 1999, we are a software company that powers sales growth decisions at today’s best companies based on what customers need next and are most willing to pay for. We continually conduct interviews with customers and non-customers of the S&P 500.

Our data and rankings have been covered in 800+ publications, including the May 2002 cover article in Harvard Business Review. Since 2017, we are a key customer data source for the Drucker Index on the Best Managed Companies, which is released in the Wall Street Journal annually.

How does the W Ratings Customer Intelligence Network work?

Each quarter—typically in March, June, September, and December—we’ll reach out to get your input. It starts with short interview (<1 minute) to find out which companies you have and have not done business with in the last 12 months. You will be randomly assigned multiple companies to give your opinion on each one and one of their key competitors.

How long is a W Ratings online interview?

Most W Ratings interviews require ~5 minutes. You should be sure to answer all the questions.

For what purposes is the data collected by W Ratings used?

We use the data to create our Moneyball blogs and for news media, Consultants, Investors, and Executives to make customer value decisions.

Can I see results of the online interviews in which I participate?

Absolutely! Your data is used in our Moneyball Blogs and reports which are free to view.

Will the information I provide to W Ratings be confidential?

Yes. Your responses will be used only in aggregate with others. Your individual answers will never be revealed to anyone in a manner that reveals your identity.

What kind of rewards are offered for participating in this research?

There are two types of interviews you will receive. The first is the <1 minute interview to determine which company interviews you will receive. While this interview is unpaid, each of the company interviews you qualify for and complete pays a gift card typically to Amazon.com. You may qualify for more than one company interview each quarter. Gift cards are typically delivered within 10-14 business days after the first company interview is sent out.

Will I receive e-mail messages from anyone other than W Ratings?

No. Under no conditions does W Ratings give, rent, or sell your email address to anyone else or allow messages to be sent to you by third parties. See our Privacy Policy.

Do I have to buy or subscribe to anything?

No. You will not be asked to buy or subscribe to anything.
